The Wild Berry Cottage Shirt is inspired by the quiet beauty of a countryside garden, where wild berries grow freely among soft leaves and tangled branches. The original artwork was thoughtfully designed to feel delicate, nostalgic, and slightly imperfect, like a botanical illustration found in an old cottage journal.
Every detail is carefully hand embroidered by skilled artisans in Northern Thailand. The stems and leaves are built up stitch by stitch, creating subtle variations in texture, shape, and colour throughout the artwork. Each berry is formed using traditional French knots, a hand-embroidery technique in which the thread is wrapped and knotted directly onto the fabric. This creates a raised, rounded surface that gives the berries their soft, full, and fluffy appearance.
Rather than sitting flat on the shirt, the French-knot berries gently stand away from the fabric, adding depth and a tactile quality to the design. The knots are placed closely together in small clusters, making each berry look naturally plump while highlighting the time and precision required to complete every piece.
Because the entire artwork is embroidered by hand, no two shirts will be exactly alike.
